Who are these people?
All of these people are collectively referred to at some point of their lives as terrorists. At least 2 of them died while committing their evil deeds.
I wrote this in response to a reply by a certain James Ong who replied to a post by Tuan Lukman Sheriff.
I find it disturbing that many Malaysians have a particular halo effect on their own race or religion, unable to process or accept the possibility that one of their own can be a terrorists.
The people I named above are of diverse background; race, religion, political beliefs.
The only common denominators to above are that we are human and we are equally capable to inflict pain and destruction on our fellow human. Not even wealth or lack of can be a denominator. Osama bin Laden came from a very wealthy family.
A friend serving in the military had more or less defined terrorist as people who performed dastardly act without rules of engagement. But in some cases, there is only 1 rule, to kill as many as possible.
Please recognise the fact that people of your own community can be radicalised. And when they do, you are likely to be a target itself as history has proven as they see you as a traitor to your own race.
And I present to you, faces of terrors.
Timothy James McVeigh - bombed and killed 168 people and wounded 680 in the Okhlahoma bombing. |
Soko Asahara, head of Aum Shinrikyo - killed 12 (some sources 13) and wounded thousands in Tokyo subway sarin gas attack. |
Anders Behring Breivik - killed 77 and wounding 319 in Oslo attack as a protest against immigration. |
Ilich Ramirez Sanchez - also known as Carlos the Jackal, a dedicated Communists who terrorised the world in the 70's. |
