Just bought this book last week. Written by Leon Comber (Prof), he attempts to write the book from an academician's eyes.

Naturally, it would be rather tough for him to approach this book as an academician; he was a participant as a Chinese-speaking Special Branch officer.
So far, I have just completed to page 11 or 13. The amount of info, the wealth is astounding.
If anyone wants to learn about Special Branch's history, this is the book.
