RMAF CN235 Crash

Yesterday (26 Feb 2016), an RMAF CN235 light transport aircraft had crashed landed in the waters off Kuala Selangor.  All pilots and crew-members survived, but an unfortunate rescuer had passed away, believed to be due to heart condition.  Condolence to the family of the rescuer, Encik Abu Hassan Abdul Latif, 57 who had passed away.

Did Price Really Went Up? Or Did it Go Down?

Some interesting observation that I had recently noted but only came across my mind today.

Come March 2016, we Malaysians have now 'suffered' under the GST tax regime for 11 months.

Revisit to Reduction of EPF 11% to 8% Effect on Income Tax

First thing first, I did not expect that I would revisit this issue so soon.  The popularity of the previous post this issue titled "How Does Reduction of EPF Deduction from 11% to 8% Affects Your Income Tax?" had been beyond my expectation.  Therefore, it is only right for me to revisit this article.  Plus, a few readers (WeeHing, MiD, mohdnajmie, OCD, Yu Wei Lim) pointed out there were errors in the calculations.  Guys, you were right.  There were several errors in the tables.  I had only realised it today when I decided to recreate the table from scratch.

Data Assessment - How Intelligence Data Assessment can help you to see through Fog of Disinformation

In today's world full of information and disinformation, it is not easy for us to determine if what we are reading is true, or untrue. Many a times, we thought what we had read is true. Yet, turns of event proved us otherwise.

Thank You

With great powers, comes great responsibility.

Writing is a powerful tool.

I didn't expect this attention. This article has been viewed far many number of times than I had expected.

I received quite a few questions from readers pointing out possible errors, both in calculation and my understanding. No, I won't delete their posts if they correctly point out my errors. They would get credit for correcting me.

What I have decided to do is to engage with my friends from LHDN to check if my post is accurate. That is the only responsible thing I can do for all those who had read and shared my post.

Like any of you, I also dislike reading unsubstantiated posts. Thus, let me do the favour to verify this correctly.

Once again, I thank all those who had read and shared. Your support, be it just reading or criticising will help me to improve my writing.

Last, as a responsible blogger, I would like to remind readers to verify all information received with the proper SME, even if the blogger is me.

How Does Reduction of EPF Deduction from 11% to 8% Affects Your Income Tax?

Update: I had reviewed my article.  Rather than rewriting the whole article to amend where was wrong, I'm leaving this here and posted a new article here.  Hopefully, this article answers your queries better.

Update: been receiving quite a few comments asking me on this post. Rest be assured I will try to get this answered. As I don't want anyone get into trouble for filing the wrong tax return, I've decided to ask my contacts in LHDN to vet through my interpretation. Any amendments will be clearly highlighted. Hope that helps.

Yesterday soon after the announcement of the Budget recalibration, some individuals began to spread rumours that when the govt reduce the employee's portion of EPF deduction, the government will be able increase their income tax base.
